On-Location Food Photography for Restaurants, Hotels and Brands
Professional food photography in Austria starts with timing - a dish has about three minutes of visual peak before the garnish wilts and the sauce settles. That window is where we work. As food photographers based in Klagenfurt, we shoot on location - in your kitchen, your dining room, your terrace with the lake behind it - because that's where food actually lives. Restaurants, hotels and food brands across Kärnten rely on images for menus, Google Business profiles, delivery platforms like Lieferando and Mjam, and social media. We deliver food photography that makes someone stop scrolling and book a table. Our studio is in Klagenfurt, and we travel across Kärnten and to Wien on request.
At New Moon Agency we cover food shoots as a two-person team - photographer and videographer on set together, every time. One session gives you stills for your menu and short-form video for Instagram Reels or your website - shot under identical lighting, with consistent colour and mood. We work directly with your kitchen team rather than bringing in a separate food stylist, which keeps the food authentic - what we photograph is what your guests are served - and keeps the budget realistic. A typical menu shoot of 15–20 dishes takes 3–4 hours.
How a Food Shoot Works
1. Planning. We agree on the dish list, the shots you need (menu, interior, social, delivery platforms) and the best window in your service schedule - usually early morning or between lunch and dinner service.
2. On the day. We shoot on location with portable lighting, working with your kitchen to plate each dish at its visual peak. Hero dishes, interior, bar and detail shots all happen in one session.
3. Selection & retouching. We curate the strongest frames and retouch for colour, freshness and consistency across the set.
4. Delivery. Edited high-resolution images, formatted for menu, web, social and delivery platforms, delivered within 5–7 working days.

Our food shoots start from €500 for a half-day menu shoot and €1000 for a full restaurant day. As a rough market guide, professional food photography typically ranges from €50–150 per dish, with larger packages priced per project. Our pricing includes on-location lighting, composition, retouching and usage rights for menu, web and social media. This is where professional food photography differs from cheap alternatives: AI image generators charge a fraction of the price, but they can't capture the steam rising off a real plate, the true colour of your ingredients, or the actual dish your guests will be served. For a restaurant building trust with new guests, that authenticity is the whole point. We provide a detailed quote after a short call - get in touch.

Yes. We shoot dishes on clean backgrounds at the right dimensions for Lieferando, Foodora and Wolt, so your listings look consistent and appetising. Marketplace photos follow different rules from menu or editorial shots - tighter framing, neutral backgrounds, clear portion representation - and we shoot specifically for that use when you need it.
-
Yes, but we recommend scheduling during a quieter window - early morning before lunch service or between 14:00–17:00. Hero dish photography needs calm and control; ambient shots of a busy dining room work well for atmosphere. We plan the entire session around your service schedule to minimise disruption.
-
Restaurants with professional photography on Google Maps receive up to 35% more direction requests than those without. On delivery platforms, dishes with high-quality images see measurably higher order rates. For social media, scroll-stopping food content is the single most effective driver of organic reach for hospitality brands across Austria.
