Jewellery Photography in Klagenfurt - Studio Work Serving DACH and Europe
Professional jewellery photography in Klagenfurt requires macro lenses, controlled lighting, and experience with reflective surfaces - we bring all three to every session, whether it's a single hero ring or a 200-piece seasonal collection. Every piece of jewellery carries hours of craft compressed into something you can hold in your hand; our job is to make that craft visible - the way light catches a facet, the texture of a hand-finished setting, the colour depth of a stone that no phone camera will ever reproduce. We work with jewellers, brands and designers across Kärnten, Austria and the wider DACH region, delivering images built for catalogues, e-commerce platforms and editorial use.
New Moon Agency is a jewellery photography and video studio based in Klagenfurt, serving jewellery brands across Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the wider European market. Our international work includes four days shooting haute joaillerie at Vicenza Oro 2026 - Europe's largest jewellery trade fair with over 1,300 exhibiting brands - alongside projects for The Unique Gallery in Dubai and jewellery shoots in Milano and Geneva. What sets us apart is a dedicated team of two - photographer and videographer - working side by side, which means your jewellery shoot can produce both stills and product video in a single session. No second booking, no inconsistent lighting between photo and film.
Why Jewellery Needs Specialised Photography?
Jewellery is one of the hardest subjects to photograph well. Polished metal reflects everything around it, gemstones lose their depth under flat lighting, and details like engraving or pavé settings disappear without macro precision. We shoot on a pure white background for clean e-commerce packshots, using macro lenses - typically 60mm and longer - to capture detail at life size. For pieces where front-to-back sharpness matters, we use focus stacking: combining multiple frames into one fully sharp image. Reflection control is handled with diffused, carefully angled lighting that reveals shape without harsh hotspots. In post-production, we hold colour accuracy across gold, silver and platinum, and keep stone colours true - an emerald should read as an emerald, not a generic green.
How a Jewellery Shoot Works
1. Consultation & brief. We start by understanding your collection, your audience and where the images will be used - e-commerce, catalogue, social media or editorial.
2. Concept & setup. We plan lighting, background and shooting order. Hero pieces get dedicated setups.
3. Shooting day. We capture macro detail, full-product and lifestyle angles in one session - typically 15–25 pieces per full day for packshots.
4. Post-production & delivery. High-end retouching and colour matching, then edited high-resolution files ready for web, print and marketplace use.
Have a collection that needs photographing - or a single piece that deserves better images? We shoot in our Klagenfurt studio, on location across Kärnten, and directly in your showroom - from catalogue setups to editorial shoots wherever your pieces are. Let's talk about your project.

Our jewellery sessions start from €500, with a full-day session from €1000. Video production is quoted individually depending on the request. Final pricing depends on the number of pieces, styling complexity and whether you need both photo and video. As a rough market guide, professional jewellery photography typically ranges from €15–25 per image for simple packshots up to €250+ per image for high-end editorial work. We provide a detailed quote after a short briefing call - get in touch and we'll scope it out.

Jewellery demands techniques most product photography never needs: reflection control on polished metal, macro lenses for tiny details, focus stacking for front-to-back sharpness, and precise colour calibration so gold reads as gold and gemstones keep their true depth. A standard product shoot lights an object and captures it; a jewellery shoot manages reflections, magnification and colour fidelity at the same time. This is why jewellery is often treated as a specialised branch of product photography. For non-jewellery items, see our product photography service.

Typically 3–5 edited images per piece - one hero shot, one detail close-up and 1–3 context or lifestyle angles. For e-commerce catalogues we deliver consistent white-background shots; for editorial or social media we add styled compositions. A full-day session usually covers 25–40 pieces depending on complexity.

Yes. Our studio is based in Klagenfurt, but we travel across Kärnten, Austria and the wider DACH region for shoots - and internationally when projects call for it. We've photographed and filmed jewellery at Vicenza Oro in Italy, for The Unique Gallery in Dubai, and on projects in Milano and Geneva. For unreleased collections, we work under NDA.
-
Clean each piece thoroughly - fingerprints and dust are the biggest time killers in post-production. Remove price tags and bring pieces in individual pouches or compartments to avoid scratches. If you have specific hero pieces, let us know in advance so we can plan lighting setups. We handle all styling and propping on set.
-
Catalogue photography uses a clean, consistent background (usually white or light grey) with standardised angles - ideal for e-commerce and wholesale lookbooks. Lifestyle photography places the piece in context: on a model, paired with fabrics, or in an environment that tells a brand story. Both serve different purposes, and many clients in Austria book a combined session to cover both.

Yes - and it's one of our biggest advantages. Because our photographer and videographer work the same session, we capture both stills and video under identical lighting. Jewellery video works especially well for social media: 360° product rotation, slow-motion detail close-ups, and brand story films. See our product video service for details.
